What Is Beautiful

Dear Friends,

On March 3, 2010 I established a non profit named What Is Beautiful. Some of you know my testimony. Through some traumatic events that happened in my childhood and early adult life, I lost my identity. For most of my life I searched to find approval and acceptance through whatever and whoever I could find. If I would have continued searching through the avenues that I was pursuing, the end result would have been death--death in spirit, faith and ultimately in body.

Through amazing friends and counselors I was able to find freedom. Now I get to help others find this freedom. I get to help them find the key to their identity. It is not in the world. It is not from other people. It is not from performing. It is not from trying harder. It is not from substances or not eating or eating too much. It is from Jesus. Jesus says we are His masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, s we can do the things he planned for us long ago."

The purpose of What Is Beautiful is for myself and others to:
conduct workshops that teach about identity and worth
speak in schools about eating disorders and body image
speak my testimony in churches and youth ministries
be an advocate and resource for families and others in the community
Share "How do you VIEW yourself...Value Identity Esteem Worth"

The reason I am writing this letter is for more than one reason. The first is to ask for donations. I need resources to get What Is Beautiful off the ground. If you feel led to give, any amount would count as a blessing. Checks can be written to What Is Beautiful and sent to the address below. Another reason is to find people who are willing to help me get the word out that this non profit exists to youth ministries, schools, community groups, and women's ministries. One other reason for writing this letter is to ask for people who are willing to serve and help me establish this business. I need Board of Directors to help me make wise decisions. The time would be limited as I am just starting. I need to write by-laws, set up an accounting system, get printed materials done, set up a website, etc. And finally above all else, I need prayer. Prayer for wisdom, strength, against attacks from the enemy, and for direction.
