Broken...and Made New

I collect sea glass...glass that was once broken, been washed in the ocean for years, and is now smooth and beautiful.

Broken Glass....Jagged...sharp...dangerous...BROKEN.

Hurting people...

Broken...

Jesus....transformed lives...washed clean...made new...smooth...safe

Glass that has been broken and was once jagged, sharp, and dangerous can spend years in the water being scrubbed and cleaned through a long consistent process and come out smooth and safe and beautiful.

From something that should have been thrown out...CHANGED in to something picked up off the beach and admired by someone collecting this beautiful

sea glass....

Broken...now redeemed

Thrown away...now saved

Pushed aside...now kept safe

Jagged...now transformed

Dirty....now clean

God never gives up on the process of transforming our lives from what seemed lost and broken...to be made in to a beautiful creation with smoothed out edges and transformed.

Sea Glass...started out a broken piece of glass. It spend years in the water and sand. The edges being rubbed and scrubbed and cleansed like sandpaper smoothing out the jagged edges of a rough piece of wood. Now I walk down the beach and pick up every piece I can find and look at it in awe of the transformation. I put it in my pocket. I can't wait to add it to my collection. Jars filled at home...white, blue, green, brown....once jagged, broken, dangerous...now smooth, soft, transformed. Art. Beauty.

Us...broken...once lost...now we have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus. He picks us up out of the mud and mire and admires us. He loves us and cherishes us. We are saved. "He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but becasue of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit." Titus 3:5 NLT "And the Lord--who is the Spirit makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image." 2 Corinthians 3:18 He doesn't give up...He doesn't leave us on the beach. He strips us of our jagged edges...of all the things that need to be removed...in order for us to be transformed in to his likeness...in order to go from broken to set free...

That is God's joy...that is what He does...that is His speciality...He knows what each of us needs...
