Beth Moore and She Speaks Conference

Today I am heading off to be at the Beth Moore conference at the Tacoma Dome. I am looking forward to hearing the Word of God and come home with a fresh and renewed spirit. I don't get to go to things like this very often...well actually it has been 10 years since I went to a conference like this...and it was Beth Moore!

Today is also the end of one of my classes. One more done...2 more start up in a week. I have a week to work on my book and What Is Beautiful. Things are happening...slowly...but happening. I have to remember that my timing is not God's timing and I am learning to trust in Him and not rely on my own speed! I want to walk fast....the Lord wants me to slow down and follow Him.

Yesterday I started a facebook page for What Is Beautiful. If you are on facebook you can search for it...

My goal is to write here more....I might start sharing very unedited versions of my book with you all and you can tell me what you think!

I wanted to share about a great conference that I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to go to....it is the She Speaks conference. Proverbs 31 (P31) ministries sponsors this event that I have heard is GREAT. This conference has three tracks. One is for writer's, another for those wanting to speak and the last for those being called in to leadership. There is a scholarship offer right now going on and I would love to receive it.

I know that God is calling me to speak out my testimony sharing the freedom that I have received. I know God is calling me to write to put words to the story of my slavery and the amazing journey to freedom. I don't even know what track I would choose....writing or speaking....God is calling me to both!

I would love to go for so many reasons but the following are are few:
1. be around other women who have the same passion
2. learning from the wisdom of those who are already speaking and writing
3. having the chance to be surrounded by lover's of Christ
4. having time to focus on the calling God has placed in my life
5. talking to people my close to my own age (I love my kids soooo much...but there is just something about a conversation with women your own age!)
6. not having to cook
7. being filled with God's truth

I could list so many more...

For more information on this conference go to the following site:

Okay...I am off to make sure my kids at least get some math in before they head off to Grandma's house for the day and night so I can go off to Beth Moore. I will write about it when I get home!

Blessings...

She Speaks Conference

I have always loved writing. When I was in fifth grade I started writing in a diary. In fact I still have them...they go something like this "I think Danny is so cute. I wish he would like me. If only he would like me and not her." I wrote in diaries all through out the rest of grade school, middle school and high school.

I love to write down my thoughts, ideas, goals, inspirational words, scriptures, frustrations and hurts. I write every day in my journal...once known as a diary...but now graduated to the "journal". And now they go something like this: "Thank you Jesus...Please help me Jesus...Forgive me Jesus...". My journals have scripture after scripture....note after note...sermon after sermon...

Over the past few years as I have battled an eating disorder and now am closing in on being recovered from it (just a few last details God is squeezing out of me), God has been pouring words in to me and they have been coming out of my fingers on to the keyboard and in to the computer screen. I think someday soon they will transform in to a book or two. I know I have two specific books started. And I also know that God is showing me that I can share my testimony through speaking.

I think it would be a huge blessing to be around people who have written books, who desire to share the Word of God either in written or spoken form. I think it would be great to be around people who dream about writing a book or are in the process of writing. I need a kick in the butt...some inspiration....a push to keep going...some advice on what I am doing right and what I can improve on.

And there is an amazing opportunity for all of this to happen. It is through a conference called She Speaks. This conference has amazing opportunities. The conference provides opportunities to go to workshops, talk with experts, perfect writing and speaking skills, be inspired and be prayed for. There will be information on publishing, editing, writing, speaking...and so much more. See the She Speaks website to learn more about the break out sessions and speakers.

Last year I was directed to the website with this information through Lysa TerKeurst and the Proverbs 31 blog sites. Last year I wasn't quite ready to go but this year, I feel led to be there and soak in the inspiration and fill my tool box with what I need to get my thoughts from my computer screen to printed out pages of a bound book.

Lysa TerKeurst is giving away a scholarship to be able to attend this conference. Most of you know that I could not afford to go on my own. I am a single mom working part time. God has provided for my family in ways that I still can't believe. I am blessed indeed. Being able to go to this conference would be an amazing gift. The cost is $525 for registration, hotel and meals. This is the amount of the scholarship. Please pray that I will either win this scholarship or be able to go through from another way of provision. It is July 30-August 1 in North Carolina.

If nothing else, I recommend reading Lysa's blog and receiving the Proverbs 31 devotions each day. They have been such a blessing in my life. And I think I got things linked here in the right places....I am just learning how to do all of that!

Blessings and love,
Teresa
